Parent Success Story

A FamilyWORKs family welcomed a new baby. One of their older children expressed that she wanted a bicycle but with the additional cost of a new child, the parents were unable to buy her one. In hearing this information, the Parent Educator responded by reminding the parents that they had their last Material Goods and Service Issuance available. The parents were relieved that they were able to use the Material Good and Service Issuance to purchase their child a bike.  The parents expressed how they were grateful for the FamilyWORKs Program giving them the opportunity to provide their child a bike. The parents reported back that since receiving the bike, their child & the entire family has been more physically active outdoors.

The FamilyWORKs program supports families by getting kids ready to succeed with school, connecting parents with community resources, and helping parents with online searching and applying for jobs.
