What’s a Parent Café? Parent Cafés provide a safe, non-judgmental opportunity for parents and caregivers to build their protective factors while engaging in conversations about what it means to keep their children safe and families strong, while also building parent leadership. It’s really a place where parents can come together to talk about the challenges and rewards of being a parent.

At our virtual December Parent Café, our parent participants all expressed feeling a bit of stress due in part because of the Holiday season. That bonding of shared experiences is how parents connect to each other all while our Community Resource Specialist guides parents through exercises and conversations around family strengthening and family well-being. Parents at our recent Café shared that the hour and a half conversation really helped them make a genuine connection with each other, and that they knew they could turn to Family Resource Center to connect them to concrete systems of support.
