Family Resource Center Unveils A Refreshed and Focused New Look

Family Resource Center is proud to announce our new look and rededicated commitment to our community. Our new messaging and name modification focuses on our advocacy for children and the adults who care for them.

Date : January 9, 2023

Stockton, CA  Family Resource Center, formerly Family Resource & Referral Center, the leader in the provision of child care services and subsidies, and the operator for 2-1-1 San Joaquin, announced today that it has completed a major rebranding, including refreshing its name and logo. The timing of the rebrand aligns with a new year, and a renewed effort to support children & families with wrap-around services that appeal to both current and new audiences. In addition to the name modification, they are also announcing an updated logo, new brand colors, a new website, and a campaign, Because Kids-all designed to improve access, awareness and ultimately, the health of our community.

Serving San Joaquin County since 1980, Family Resource Center is a not-for-profit service with expertise in caring for the needs of young children and their families, ensuring that families with fewer means have access to quality child care, and investing in its network of Child Care Providers serving those families. Current services include child-care assistance, parenting education, professional development for child care providers, community engagement, employment services through CalWORKs, direct child care services, and nutrition services. Families in our county can access all our child care services, plus that of 4,000 helpful, local community resources by calling 2-1-1 San Joaquin, the County’s Information & Referral Service Call Center.

“Our refreshed brand will ensure that children have access to the best start, no matter their financial or familial situation. By investing in Child Care Providers, we are helping to reduce the barriers to success for women, and ultimately propelling families to a better future,” says CEO Kay Ruhstaller. “It is my sincere belief that every child, every family deserves the opportunity to a great start. That start can begin by calling 2-1-1, to access great child care and the wrap-around services available to every family.”

FRC’s new identity reflects our forward-looking approach to inclusivity and collaboration with a clear focus on improving the lives of children. The timing of the campaign aligns with the agency’s response to the emotional and financial impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on children and families. The ad campaign focuses a call to action on 2-1-1, the easy-to-remember three-digit number available to all residents within San Joaquin County to access any of our services aimed at improved outcomes for children, Child Care Providers, and the community.

About Family Resource Center:  Family Resource Center is committed to the health and well-being of children in San Joaquin County, and the adults who care for them. Serving the community since 1980, our mission is to provide resources to parents and childcare providers to encourage healthy growth for the children in their care. We do that by providing advocacy, information, education, nutritional support, training, and childcare services – directly and by financially supporting community childcare providers – so that every child, and parent, has access to safe and stimulating care outside the home. Through the provision of the county’s 2-1-1 system, housed and administered by Family Resource Services, we offer new and current residents referral and access to information about child care, nutritional services and other programs available in San Joaquin County that support broader community health.
