Family Child Care Providers Celebrated for Completion of Apprenticeship Program.

A huge round of applause goes to our 13 Family Child Care Providers who completed our 2-year Apprenticeship Program. The program supported their professional development-increasing their knowledge, skills, and abilities as licensed Child Care Providers. Said one graduate, “Every class has increased my quality of care.”

Graduates are now applying for their Associate Teacher’s Permit. Some are planning to expand their business-applying to go from a small licensed Provider to large, and some are planning on opening their own child care centers. Said another Provider, “I believe this apprenticeship program was an essential tool I needed because it has opened my eyes to learn what it takes to be a better Child Care Provider and have a successful business.”

The reception held in June allowed the Family Resource Center coaches & administrators to recognize the hard work of the Providers who passed their classes all while working full-time, caring for children. The cohort also agreed to stay connected with each other in their journey as child care professionals.
