On February 21st, FRRC hosted its 7th Child Care Supply Drive-Thru Giveaway at the Teen IMPACT Center. The Resource & Referral team distributed masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, soap, paper & cloth towels, Lysol wipes, and books to hundreds of Child Care Providers across the county who attended this socially distanced event.
Keeping our Child Care Providers supplied with health and safety items, helps keep children and families safe. “It is critical that we support our Child Care Providers any way we can,” says COO, Tiffany Phovixay. Providers gave thanks to our team for their continued efforts of support with “air hugs” and smiles.
As frontline workers, Child Care Providers have taken on the key role of supporting children and families of the essential workforce during the COVID-19 crisis, putting in harm’s way their own health, and the health of their families to ensure that children continue to receive quality care. Child Care Providers have taken measures to prevent the spread of disease at their sites-maintaining the health and safety of the children and families they serve.
FRRC was a strong advocate for Child Care Providers to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in San Joaquin County. Our team has continued to alert Providers about vaccination opportunities, and have helped secure appointments at vaccination clinics. We continue to work with our community partners to ensure that all Child Care Providers who want to be vaccinated, have access.
