Celebrating Our Recent PITC Graduation: Supporting San Joaquin County’s Youngest Learners

Celebrating Our Recent PITC Graduation: Supporting San Joaquin County’s Youngest Learners

Recently, we had the honor of celebrating the graduation of our latest cohort of Child Care Providers who completed the Program for Infant Toddler Care (PITC). This milestone marks an important step in ensuring that the families and young children of San Joaquin County are supported by skilled, knowledgeable providers who are prepared to give infants and toddlers the best possible start in life.

What is the PITC?

The Program for Infant Toddler Care (PITC) is a nationally recognized training program designed to provide child care providers with the specialized knowledge and skills needed to care for infants and toddlers. Focusing on responsive, relationship-based care, PITC equips providers with a deep understanding of early childhood development, creating nurturing environments that support each child’s individual needs.

By completing this rigorous training, our San Joaquin County providers are now even better prepared to offer high-quality, developmentally appropriate care that strengthens the bond between children and their caregivers. This program emphasizes the importance of creating safe, consistent, and responsive care environments that promote healthy brain development and emotional well-being in our youngest learners.

Why This Matters for Families

Infant and toddler care is one of the most critical stages of early childhood development. Children’s brains grow rapidly during the first three years of life, and the quality of care they receive during this time sets the foundation for their future learning, social skills, and emotional health. PITC-trained providers are uniquely qualified to foster these essential early experiences through individualized care and a deep understanding of each child’s needs.

San Joaquin County families can feel confident knowing that our providers have undergone extensive training to ensure their children are in caring, capable hands. These providers are equipped not only to care for your child but to nurture their development, making them a trusted resource for parents looking to support their children’s early learning journey.
