After moving to San Joaquin County, Natalia Solis found herself dialing 211 in search of Holiday support for her kids. Little did she know, she was about to receive much more assistance than she had anticipated. During her conversation, Natalia expressed worries about her youngest child’s development. The 211 Call Specialist promptly conducted an Ages & Stages Questionnaire. The assessment confirmed that her child would need extra support to reach developmental milestones. The Specialist then guided Natalia to the Family Resource Center and helped her navigate other organizations that could support her child. Now, a Parent Educator regularly visits Natalia’s home, engaging her child (and the other children she cares for) in enjoyable, developmental activities. Natalia’s initial call to 211 was for a single purpose, but it led her to resources she didn’t even know she needed.
