We recently received a request for information to help an older gentleman suffering from Parkinson’s disease. The man’s son was having a difficult time in finding an Assisted Living facility in their area that was affordable and could assist with his Dad’s condition. The son also shared with our Call Specialist that his Dad is a US Veteran. Our Call Specialist was able to then determine that the father was already receiving financial assistance from Veterans Affairs (VA), and through a quick search of our database, we were able to connect the son to an affordable Assistant Living program by the Retirement Housing Foundation.

The son was grateful that 211 was able to help his Dad get connected to the right help. He shared with us that a “weight had been lifted.”
